TO SERVE YOU AND THE WORLD

WHY WE CREATED YUMAME FOODS

As a chemical engineer with a PhD in process optimization from Italy and the USA, along with further education in business management, I spent more than 15 years working in leading food technology and manufacturing companies. This experience gave me the opportunity to see first-hand how the food industry operates across several countries. During this time, I noticed a clear pattern: while many products on the market are tasty and convenient, they often compromise on other essential aspects. Too often they are heavily processed, resource-intensive in terms of energy and water, and reliant on ingredients sourced from all over the world, making them far from sustainable.

This contradiction became even more evident to me in the plant-based sector, where products promising to be natural, healthy and sustainable frequently fail to live up to their claims. I wanted to change this situation and prove that it is possible to make food that is tasty, nutritious, easy to use, and environmentally sustainable — all at once!

That is why I started Yumame Foods. Drawing on my scientific expertise and professional experience, and together with exceptional Swiss academic partners in biotechnology, food processing, and culinary science, we developed a unique food product crafted only from locally sourced, wholesome ingredients such as fungi and grains. It is produced through the simple and natural method of fermentation, applied in innovative ways. As an omnivore myself, I did not set out to mimic meat, but to create an authentic food where you can truly recognize what you are eating.

Yumame is the result: gently processed, naturally rich in nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, while also being delicious and genuinely sustainable. It is your daily ingredient, ready to be used in countless recipes, adapting to your taste, boosting your culinary creativity, and supporting your wellbeing.

We do this with one goal in mind: to offer you the best way to nourish yourself and your loved ones—while preserving the nature we all want to live in.
